Werner Heisenberg on human thinking

A famous quote of Werner Heisenberg on human thinking-taken from The Tao of Physisc by Fritjof Capra:-

It is probably true quite generally that in the history of human thinking the most fruitful developments frequently take place at those points where two different lines of thought meet. These lines may have their roots in quite different parts of human culture, indifferent times, or different cultural environments or different religious traditions: hence is they actually meet, that is, if they are at least so much related to each other that a real interaction can take place, then one may hope that new and interesting development may occur.

Happy Birthday dear Deepa!

Many many happy returns of the day. You filled my mind with hopes and imparted courage to face the uncertainties we are living through now! Your unconditional support and faith really keeps me going . I cannot forget the trials and tribulations you had to face in the past few years. Hope the coming years will bring happiness and joy in our lives! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAR WIFE!.

Mind

My mind gets agitated when I see hasty conclusions about "others" by our dear and near and their improper mental attitude towards "others". Even children are getting suffocated by unintelligent love and false relationships created by wrong accentuation on the sentiment of love! An agitated mind adversely affects one's power of intellectual discrimination. Most of the people around us are tormented by worries and anxieties. They are impelled by their self-centered thinking and thereby feeding their ego. As long as one possesses capacity to earn wealth, fame and useful to others there is always an entourage following you, but when your usefulness wanes away the entourage diminishes and is treated with indifference and contempt even by the near and dear ones. One has to rise above silly allurements!

The Sun Will Shine Again

how far to travel
like an aimless journey
with a chaotic and aching mind

through this dark and forbidding path
in quest of a source of sun shine

the road ahead is like what left behind
at times seen sunshine afar
was mirage when reached near!

They say life is beautiful
but time has made me a child of despair
why did I change?
I miss the days when-
every day was a new canvas for me!
have struggles gone in vain?
perhaps struggles needed perfection

need to rise above sufferings and miseries
the sun will shine again someday

Yet Another Vishu

Today we are celebrating yet another Vishu (വിഷു) in Malaysia with our little daughter who is like a lonely shining star lighting our lives with her innocent smiles! Gone are the days when we celebrated Vishu with contentment and were more spiritualistic compared to today being more ritualistic. It takes me to the good old days of Vishu celebrations (Malayalam astrological new year). Amma used to arrange systematically Vishukani in our pooja (prayer) room the previous daynight in an Uruli (brass pot) with a bunch of green mangos, golden cucumber, betel leaves, tender jack fruit, coconut, cashew apple, rice, a bunch of bananas, a gleaming brass lamp, agarbathi, coins, gold, a bunch of golden coloured “kanikonna” (Cassia fistula or Indian laburnum-Kerala's regional flower) and other paraphernalia. The touch of my mothers palm when she covered my eyes, first sight of the day-the glorious vishukani, the mixed cent of flowers, oil and garbathi were unforgettable experiences. Subsequent to vishukaineetams from my mother and grandparents and visit to nearby Sri Krishna temple we would partake a breakfast of tasty idlis, vada chutney sambar and a sumptuous typical Malayalee lunch on banana leaf.

Vishu signifies the Sun's transit to the zodiac Mesha Mesha Raasi as per Kerala (Indian) astrological calculations.

Reality?

Every time I think about relationships, I get worried because I have seen relationships are based on convenience for most of the people aroud us, no trust among even the family members! We are living in a world that is bizarre where even friendships are capricious. Envy, jealousy, revenge, rudeness, status, etc are ruling everybody's consciousness-there are too many skeletons in the closet! For most people, the most important things in their life are linked to money, power, social recognition, etc. Everyone seemingly leading dual lives! I know in today's world there is no need to get excited or worried about something that is a dime a dozen. Our values and skepticism in these situations can't help, people are learning to come to terms with the hypocrisy and insecurities of the world we dwell in. Everybody is talking about values...but I always wounder where these values have gone? The value erosion is more visible in our society exemplified by dysfunctional families. The erosion of values are demonstarted by daily newspapers which are filled with stories of cheating, crimes, incest, and what not! We(Indians) had a way of life with a rich personality of its own. We are talking about globalisation of economies...now we really need globalisation of our long forgotten values to create a common bond of values between all nationalities, races, culture, etc!
